Detailed dragon with outstretched wings in an antique hand polished silver plate finish, screw back conchos for adding decorative detail to belts, bags, straps and more. In a choice of left or right hand profile.

Celtic winged dragon hand polished antique silver plate engraved style conchos for adding a decorative metal ornament to your leatherwork projects.

These conchos attach with a screwback - Tip: add a little glue to the thread for additional security.Ā 

The wordĀ conchoĀ comes from the Spanish "concha" which actually means "conch" or "seashell" but has come to mean round or oval disks (occasionally rectangles) of silverĀ usedĀ to decorate saddles, bridles, clothing,Ā usedĀ as jewellery such as for pendants and bolo ties and for adding to belts. The Navajo learned the art of metal working from the Mexicans, and it is believed that the firstĀ ConchoĀ belt was an adaptation of horse bridle buckles found there. As trade increased with Europeans in the Plains Territory, the Navajo began to makeĀ ConchosĀ out of silver coins they had with them.
